CUMBRIA Chamber of Commerce is backing an award-winning women’s development programme. Springboard is a new initiative for the county, although businesses both large and small have already successfully applied the course across the UK and internationally. Alan Wier, business development manager at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are delighted to have this award-winning programme on offer for the autumn. I have taken part in some of the inspiring exercises myself and see the business value. The Chamber of Commerce has a strong focus on workforce development and offering Springboard is just one part of that commitment.” Springboard aims to help women to set and achieve work and personal goals. Springboard participants attend four one-day workshops over three months and also work through a lively workbook in their own time. Programmes started in Carlisle, Penrith, Kendal and West Cumbria this month. For further details, contact Milecastle Consultancy on 016977-47821.
