PRESS RELEASEDeveloping Women in Rural BusinessesEU money to fund women's programmes in agriculture, forestry and horticulture business sectors Women in farming and rural businesses are often the lynch pin, taking an active role in the business whilst juggling home and family commitments. Yet their talents are often underused and they can feel undervalued and unappreciated. Milecastle Consultancy and the South Yorkshire Rural Skills Project are working together to address this issue. They have secured EU funding to deliver the award winning Springboard Women's Development Programme in Rotherham, starting on 26th October at a cost of just £30. Springboard trainer Sue Hewitt said, "This programme has something to offer to all women, enabling them to take control of their lives, change what they want to change, set and achieve goals. Recent research has shown measurable business benefits such as greater productivity, better problem solving & decision-making and improved use of resources. I believe it will give a significant boost to those forward thinking businesses who take advantage of this opportunity". The collaboration with Milecastle Consultancy was instigated by Helen Spooner, South Yorkshire Rural Skills Programme.
